TWO British cities are battling to host the 2023 ユーロビジョンソングコンテスト, the BBC has announced.
Ukrainian entry Kalush Orchestra triumphed in this year’s competition in Turin, イタリア, but producers decided the show cannot be safely held in the country because of Russia’s invasion.
The UK was given the chance to host for the ninth time — more than any other country — after Sam Ryder, 33, came second with Space Man.
Liverpool has been a Unesco City of Music since 2015, and was the home of The Beatles.
Mayor of Liverpool Joanne Anderson said: “Culture is synonymous with Liverpool and we tick all the boxes to be next year’s host.”
