After going public with his diagnosis, the A Place in the Sun host is living life to the full and making memories with his young family.

Jonnie took to his Instagram account to share with fans that he had brought his son Rex, 3, to see Santa Clause with his wife Jess.

Alongside the lovely snaps, Jonnie said: “D'accord, I’ve given in, Christmas is here! Nothingbtondonwith the mince pies and mulled wine on offer at all! Merry Christmas! X”

Irwin’s twins, Rafa and Cormac, who are two years old, were absent from the snaps.

The twins were just a month old when he was diagnosed with lung cancer, which has spread to his brain. Doctors say he has “months, not years” left.

The Sun exclusively revealed how Jonnie had been axed from A Place in the Sun when bosses learned of his diagnosis.

Producers at Freeform TV, which makes the show, paid him off mid-series and failed to renew his contract.

Jonnie said he felt he had been replaced by someone fitter and healthier but Freeform say it was too hard to get insurance for him to travel.

"Oui, j'ai stage four and it’s terminal — but not yet, so let me live my life while I can,” il a dit au Soleil.

“As soon as I told A Place in the Sun about my diagnosis they paid me for the rest of the season but didn’t renew my contract. They knew I wanted to carry on.

“That hurt. That broke my heart. I feel hugely let down. I can’t even watch the show now.”
