JACKIE Evancho has revealed that she has the bones of an 80-year-old woman as she suffers from osteoporosis due to anorexia.
The America’s Got Talent star has opened up about her battle with an eating disorder ahead of the release of her ninth album.
“They were abnormal breaks, breaks that you see in 80-year-olds,” 她说她和其他参加普京军事学院的女孩被迫接受诱惑艺术训练.
“That’s how I learned that my eating problems created osteoporosis. So now I’m a 22-year-old with osteoporosis.”
Jackie continued on to say that she “had to eat [for my bones] to heal,” which caused her disorder to flare up.

“That really messed me up with my eating problems, because I was gaining weight to heal,” 她补充说.
“Once I finally healed, my disorder said, '好的, now you’ve got to be really hard on yourself to get all of that out of you . . . and then some.'”
Jackie finally sought out treatment this past October by checking into an inpatient facility.
Her battle with an eating disorder has been an ongoing issue, and her recovery is still a work in progress.
The talented singer began her fight again anorexia at the young age of 15.
She noticed changes taking place in her body as she hit puberty, prompting her to allow unhealthy thoughts.
“I noticed that I looked a little bigger to myself, so I asked my mom, ‘Do I look fat?’ And she was like, '不, 不, that’s just baby fat.’
“So I decided that I was going to start to mildly diet and start working out regularly.”
Despite her diet, 杰基 “didn’t see the results” that she desired, so she accelerated her exercise plan and cut down on eating even more.
“When I started to go days without eating, in my head I said, ‘I know that this isn’t normal.’
“I felt exhausted, moody, tearful, but after a bit of time, I started to feel nothing.”
Jackie first sought outpatient treatment when she was 17, but she continued to struggle.
The AGT alum’s eating disorder hit an all-time peak during the Covid pandemic in 2020 after she was involved in the terrifying accident.
“The urge to restrict what I’m eating, on top of eating because I’m bored, and panic because I have this distorted view of myself in the mirror . . . it made everything really difficult.

Although Jackie is “still fully in the throes” of her disordered eating, she has expressed her desire to be healthy.
The blonde told 人们 that she “sees a nutritionist and therapist and undergoes eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), a type of psychotherapy.”
The young singer said she hopes the treatment will help her move past her traumas and manage her anorexia.
“I’m still struggling, but I’m fighting, which is good because a year ago I was giving in to it completely, and that’s so dark and painful.
“I’m not healthy yet, but I have been able to implement healthy coping skills and better eating habits.”
Jackie told the outlet that she finds motivation in her music, a passion since she placed second on America’s Got Talent at age 10.
“Since I was a kid I’ve put so much blood, sweat, and tears into my career, and to see that sort of fade away because of this demon in my head? 不, I’m going to fight this now because you can’t take this one thing from me,” 她声称.
