Gesser was reportedly travelling with his 18-year-old brother when their vehicle collided with a taxi on the United Nations Road in IJsselstein, De Telegraaf report.

Police have confirmed the victims were both 16 and 18, were from IJsselstein and part of the same family, but stopped short in identifying their names.

The driver of the taxi was taken to hospital as a precaution but his injuries are not thought to be serious.

The Secret Scout reacted to the news on Twitter. They wrote: “Tragic news coming out of Holland of 16 year old Noah Gesser sadly passing away.

“Thoughts are with his Family, friends and teammates at Ajax. Rest in Peace”

Gesser was seen as a huge talent at Ajax and was recently promoted to the U17 squad.

He signed for the Dutch giants from amateur side Alphense Boys in 2018, before starring at youth level.

Last season, he scored 13 goals in just six games for Ajax’s U16 team.
