After months of speculation about when new episodes of the game show will air, fans finally have their answer.

One fan on Twitter asked Anne when new episodes of the show will air and the quiz show star gave an answer that many have been waiting for.

Anne announced that the new series will be coming to our screens in a matter of week.

The fan asked: “Can you put some light on the subject of when new editions of The Chase will be coming to our screens because the repeat episodes seem to be going on forever! Hope to hear back from you.”

Anne replied back: “ It’s generally after the August Bank Holiday, once people are back home.”

The thrilled fan responded back: “Thanks for that Anne. It seems as though all you lovely chasers are spread about all over the world at the minute”.

They added: “I will look forward to the new episodes of The Chase and it will always be the best quiz show ever!”

If Anne is correct, new episodes will be shown from either the last few days of August or early September.

The ITV gameshow that first aired in 2009, is still hosted by TV personality and former actor, Bradley Walsh.

The tweets come just a few days after Anne Hegarty announced her new project away from the ITV quiz show.

The Chaser recently revealed she will be staring in a new sitcom coming soon.

But she later confirmed that she sadly hasn’t got the official green-light to start filming the sitcom just yet.

The Chase continues on weekdays on ITV at 5pm.
