A BRITISH man has been “beheaded” with a sickle in Thailand and another is fighting for life after a row with a knife-wielding local.

The pair were attacked in the town of Kanchanaburi, in the south west of the country, in the early hours of this morning.

The dead Brit, 49, originally from Somerset, was found face-down in a pool of blood with knife wounds on his neck, secondo i rapporti locali.

He died at the scene.

His British pal, 55, di Nuneaton, Warwickeshire, sustained serious injuries and is said to be fighting for his life in hospital.

The duo were attacked by a local Thai man using a machete-type blade after what cops believe could have been an argument over noise.

The British friends had earlier been drinking beer and playing loud music at around 3am before they were set upon, ha detto la polizia.

Cops arrested a 22-year-old Thai man in relation to the attack.

Local media reports say the suspect has a history of mental health problems.

A Foreign and Commonwealth Office spokesman said: “We are contact with the Royal Thai Police following the death of one British man and the hospitalisation of another in Thailand and are ready to provide consular support.”
