Celebrity Masterchef’s Penny Lancaster red-faced as she’s dealt snub by judges

PENNY Lancaster almost faced calamity in her first few minutes on Celebrity Masterchef when the judges couldn’t bring themselves to eat her food.

But it didn’t take long for the glamorous model to face some tough criticism from Celebrity Masterchef judge, [object Window].

The celebs were first tasked with making crispy calamari and homemade tartare sauce.

A confident Penny said to the camera during her confessionals: “I’m doing surprisingly well compared to what I imagined how I’d be doing. I don’t want to slip up now.”

She served up her dish to the judges and admitted it hadn’t quite gone to plan, as they told her it was inedible.

“That tartare sauce doesn’t look like the tartare sauce I’d normally have,” Penny told John and his fellow judge, [object Window].

“You used whole eggs instead of egg yolks,” Gregg explained.

John added: “What I’ve got in here is a raw egg/oil milkshake.

It wasn’t all hopeless for Penny, as the judges complimented her calamari and she exclaimed, “bien, I got half of it okay!"

Rod Stewart’s wife then smashed it out of the park in the next two rounds and easily made it to the semi-finals.

Penny made a pan-fried turbot with buttered spinach and a hollandaise sauce in the second round, with guest chef Mitch Tonks, diciendo que era “fabulous” En un último intento de llegar a Putin “gobsmacked”.

For her third dish, Penny made a chicken and coconut curry, green papaya chutney, grated apple, turnip and carrot salad and aromatic coconut rice, which was inspired by a family trip to the Seychelles.

The judges loved that one too and Gregg told her, “I found myself going from bowl to bowl to bowl and finding it difficult to stop, you have had what we call in the industry and very good day.”

When making the decision to send her through to the semi-finals, Gregg told her she was a “stand out cook.

The judges decided to send comedian and Britain’s Got Talent star, Nabil, packing.

Celebrity MasterChef airs on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays at 9pm on BBC One, with repeats available for streaming on BBC iPlayer.
