CHELSEA have been blocked from recalling in-form defender Levi Colwill from his loan with Championship outfit Huddersfield Town.
The 18-year-old has played 21 times for the Terriers in all competitions, helping them solidify their place in the top half of the table.
And according to [object Window], due to the amount of minutes Colwill has played, Chelsea are unable to recall the centre-back, rendering the option void.
The news will come as a boost for Huddersfield boss Carlos Corberan, 38, who is hoping to fire the west Yorkshire club back into the top flight.
Colwill is particularly impressed with Corberan, who is helping him learn how to express himself on the pitch.
On Corberan, Colwill said: “On the ball I need to express myself a bit more, so when I’m on the ball I need to be confident with it, take my time, be composed and wait for the right pass, as the first pass you see might not always be the right one.
“So that’s what I’ve learned playing under this style and under Carlos, and I think it’s helped me a lot to express myself and make myself get better, so now I just need to keep it going and keep working hard.”
Colwill also says his time in the Championship is helping his concentration levels.

Hy het bygevoeg: “I’ve learnt a lot defensively, definitely so being stronger and always staying concentrated because it can be a split second where you turn off and goal, your heads in your hands and it’s annoying, it’s not a very nice feeling.
Colwill has found himself being compared to current Blues ace Reece James, a comparison he appreciates.
Hy het gesê: “I wouldn’t get ahead of myself and compare myself to Reece James personally because you see what he does week-in-week-out, he’s a great player.
“But it’s nice and I appreciate it, but at the same time it doesn’t really mean that much to me because they can compare me to whoever they like but it’s down to me to work hard and put in the performances I need to help me and the team out.
“Because I can listen to it all and get big-headed but then nothing could happen and it’ll all be pointless. Any player can get called or get compared to Reece James but it’s down to me at the end of the day.”
Chelsea also failed in their attempts to recall Emerson from Lyon to ease Thomas Tuchel’s injury crisis.
The Blues were desperate to bring in reinforcements down the left after Ben Chilwell was ruled out for the season with a knee injury.
Lyon were reportedly offered £3.3million by Chelsea to recall their own player, but the French outfit turned it down.
