CHELTENHAM Festival markets are really picking up pace now – and we can get stuck into some tantalising ante post positions more confidently.

ثانية, the bulk of the market movers and favourites have come from Ireland.

Willie Mullins’ Dysart Dynamo was mega impressive as he demolished the Moscow Flyer field last Sunday.

But he is causing all sorts of headaches for the master trainer with regards to his intended target at the Festival.

With the race traditionally a stepping stone for the Sky Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, he jumped to 5/1 for the curtain raiser and was also cut to a similar price for the Ballymore, with many believing that is a much weaker affair this year.

My hunch is that he will go to the Ballymore, but at this stage it’s still anyone’s guess.

We also saw the superstar that is Bob Olinger make it two from two over fences in a dominant display in the G3 Kildare Novices Chase.

He jumped much more fluently and put the race to bed between the second and last fence comfortably.

I was pleased to see my previously advised ante post selection Capodanno run a huge race in second.

Hopefully he takes in another run before Cheltenham over the extended distance.

I think he will be bang there in the National Hunt Chase as advised.

Moving onto this week’s selection, and the horse I’ve chosen will have to get the better of the mighty Bob Olinger in the Turners Novices’ Chase, but at the prices I’m willing to take an each way chance on him.

BACK MATT CHAPMAN’S CHELTENHAM ANTE POST DOUBLE AT A BOOSTED 7-1

We only have to look back at the same race last year with Envoi Allen to know anything can happen on the day.

Looking past the current even money favourite, the picture looks a bit murky in terms of potential challengers, with only really Venetia Williams’ L’Homme Presse sticking out.

But ultimately I think he will come up short in this company.

Looking further down the list, it’s a Mullins contender who catches the eye for me at this stage, and the one I’m adding to my portfolio is SAINT SAM who is currently 20/1 with most firms after a pleasing debut over fences a couple weeks ago.

He saw off the likes of Thedevilscoachman and El Barra in a fairly hot Beginners’ Chase and looked to be doing his best work late on, suggesting a step up in trip might be suitable.

Jockey Paul Townend seemed to think he’d make a better chaser than hurdler after his debut, and stated: “He had a good leap at the last and it was only then that he was getting going.”

To me that suggests he might be one for the middle distance novice chases, especially with Mullins seemingly already having the Arkle division sewn up with Ferny Hollow and Blue Lord.

He ran a cracker at the Festival under a big weight in the Boodles last year so we know he doesn’t mind Cheltenham.

And the fact he is only five suggests there’s probably plenty of improvement in him.

We likely haven’t seen the heights he can scale.

I would imagine Mullins will get another run into him before Cheltenham, whether that be the Dublin Racing Festival or not, then send him to take on Bob Olinger in the Turners along with a couple of other darts from his yard.
