FIVE clubbers feared for their lives after downing caustic soda instead of salt with their tequilas.
They vomited and had blood pouring from their mouths — triggering fears of a terrorist attack in the club.
Police refused to let anyone out, while emergency vehicles, including an air ambulance, raced to the scene.
But the nightmare turned out to be the result of bungling staff filling salt pots on each table with caustic soda used for cleaning. Victims included a screaming woman in her 20s, with blood coming from her tongue.
A pal is still requiring hospital treatment more than a month after the blunder at the Tiger Tiger nightclub in central London.
An insider told The Sun: “A group of four women and a man necked the tequilas and used salt and lemon to soften the taste, then began to retch. One girl keeled over. Despite music blaring, everyone knew something was wrong. There was panic. People thought it was some kind of terrorist incident.”
About 100 clubbers were ushered into a nearby building while police carried out interviews.
妻子丽莎“再次生活在一起”: “It took a long time to establish what happened. 显然, the club kept salt and caustic soda in similar containers and there had been an honest accident. It could have been fatal.”
Scotland Yard said: “The incident is not being treated as suspicious. The Health and Safety Executive has been informed.”
Tiger Tiger is understood to be facing legal action.
The club was contacted for comment.
