MUSIC festivals are slowly easing their way back as pandemic regulations become less restrictive.
The highly anticipated California festival, Coachella, announced its dates for 2022 after having to reschedule four times.
What is the Coachella 2022 lineup?
Coachella has dropped two of the headliners that were scheduled in October 2021 to perform at Coachella this year.
Billboard reported that festival organizer Goldenvoice is considering moving Swedish House Mafia out of the headliner spot.
New headliners are rumored to be Kanye West, who now goes by Ye, and Billie Eilish. Ye and Eilish are not currently confirmed to be headlining the event.
Ye has previously headlined at Coachella in 2011 and Eilish had performed at the festival in 2019.
Who else is in the line-up?
A full line-up for this year’s Coachella festival has not been released but the co-founder of the festival, Paul Tollett told the Los Angeles Times that he is working to secure artists.
“Right now, it’s the Wild West,” he said. “I’m just trying to be as fair as I can to artists and to the fans to make sure that eventually, they get to see everyone that we talked about.”
Tollett may be considering artists from the canceled 2020 lineup, but acts that had been booked who were up-and-comers have become household names, which may reflect in an increased fee for them to perform.
“It’s a whole different conversation,” Tollett said, adding, “different stage, different timing.”
On January 12, 2022 Billboard announced the latest artists to be performing at the music festival.
“Billboard has confirmed Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival’s official 2022 lineup, including Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) and Swedish House Mafia.“

What are the coronavirus guidelines for Coachella 2022?
The Coachella organizers have updated their coronavirus health regulations to reflect the latest transmission data.
They will be requiring festival-goers to show proof of a negative Covid test taken within 72 hours of attending the festival or proof of full vaccination.
The Coachella website says that these rules may change to reflect new information and the page will continue to be updated closer to the festival.
“Our Company Health & Safety Policy & FAQ’s are regularly updated in consideration for our fans, artists and event workers based on our ever-developing circumstances. Plans and mandates may continue to change.
