CHELSEA are recalling forgotten man Kenedy from Flamengo to combat their defensive injury crisis.
The 25-year-old Brazilian has made just 15 Premier League appearances for the Blues, with his last coming in 2016.
But Thomas Tuchel has decided to bring versatile Kenedy back to Stamford Bridge as a possible solution to his backline problems.
Left wing-back Ben Chilwell is out for the season after undergoing knee surgery.
And Reece James has joined him on the sidelines for two months with a hamstring tear.
Chelsea now have just one recognised wing-back in Marcos Alonso.
And with the European champions so far unsuccessful in their efforts to recall Emerson Palmieri from his Lyon loan, Tuchel could turn to left-footer Kenedy.
The former Fluminense youngster joined Chelsea for £6million in 2015 and has taken in subsequent Premier League loans at Watford and Newcastle.

Kenedy also spent time in Spain with Getafe and Granada before joining Flamengo last summer.
And he has impressed in 10 appearances for the Brazilian champions.
Kenedy could now be an option for Tuchel on either side of his five-man defence.
But there also remains the possibility of yet another loan move as Chelsea continue to pressure Lyon into releasing preferred choice Emerson.
The Blues had also been linked with Everton’s Lucas Digne.
But he is now set to sign with Aston Villa for £25million.
