Is The Holiday based on a true story?

The Holiday centres around a family trip to the Mediterranean that quickly descends into a living nightmare.

The show follows a group of four women who go on holiday together in the south of France.

It emerges that one of them has been having an affair with another’s partner.

The series is NOT based on real life events, although some parts of the story may ring true for some people.

Is The Holiday based on a book?

The show is based on the bestselling novel of the same name by TM Logan, who has sold over a million books worldwide.

His other stories include Trust Me, The Curfew, The Catch, 29 Seconds and Lies.

The Holiday was a Richard & Judy Book Club pick for summer 2019 and spent ten weeks in the Sunday Times bestsellers list.

What is The Holiday about?

Leading the cast is Dark Money actress Jill Halfpenny as Kate.

The Holiday follows her character on her dream family holiday in the Mediterranean.

But the holiday she always dreamed for soon becomes a nightmare after she discovers her husband has been having an affair with one of her close friends.

All four of her friends are on holiday with her and Kate spends time trying to get to the bottom of what’s been going on.

As soon as she gets close to the truth, she eventually realises how high the stakes are, and that someone in the villa might be ready to kill in order to keep the affair a secret.

How can I watch The Holiday?

The Holiday kicks off TONIGHT (March 1, 2022) on Channel 5 at 9pm.

The series has four episodes in total which will run over the next four days, until the finale on Friday, March 4, 2022.

Once aired, all episodes will become available to watch via My5.
