GOOGLE has introduced some useful new features on Chrome which may help you keep costs down.
The tech behemoth has added a Battery Saver mode to the latest version of the popular web browser, as well as a way to make things run more smoothly.
You can choose to switch on Battery Saver at anytime, or you can set it to automatically kick in whenever your battery is below 20 persent.
There’s an option for it to activate whenever you’re using a laptop that’s not plugged in too.
So it could be a good life saver if you’re out and about and running low on juice.
A new leaf icon will appear next to the address bar when Energy Saver is on.
The feature works by doing things like limiting background activity and reducing visual effects.
Volgens 9to5Google, the tech firm says you “may notice changes in gaming and video performance”.
Intussen, the Memory Saver option frees up memory from tabs you’re not using to make performance a lot smoother.
Any inactive tabs will still be visible but they won’t be doing anything until you go back to them, when it’ll automatically reload.

It means Chrome uses up to 30 per cent less memory, Google eise.
You’ll notice a message in the address bar which tells you whenever Memory Saver is on.
But for sites you want to remain active, you can make them exempt on a special list.
Google has created a whole new Performance menu in the Settings for you to dabble with the latest additions.
The features will appear in Chrome 108 which is rolling out over the next several weeks.
