DEAR DEIDRE: OVER the last few years I’ve piled on the weight, feel tired all the time, have no libido whatsoever, can’t sleep properly and have pelvic floor issues.
I’m convinced I’ve entered perimenopause but my doctor is treating me for an underactive thyroid.
Eu estou 47 and I’ve completely lost my confidence.
I’m worried my partner is getting fed up with me and is thinking about leaving.

I really don’t want to go back to the doctor as I just know they won’t listen to me and will insist I carry on with the same medication.

DEIDRE DIZ: All your symptoms seem to be synonymous with the menopause.
Having hypothyroidism, an underactive thyroid, can increase or complicate menopause symptoms so it is absolutely worth going back to your doctor and asking for further investigations.
