A YOUTH worker has told how she was slapped with a £60 fine for spending 45 minutes in a McDonald’s drive-thru while eating in her car.

The woman had taken a foster child for a meal at the fast-food branch in Walsall, Birmingham last month.

The pair went through the drive-thru as the kid suffered with anxietyand they opted to tuck into their grub in the car while parked up at the restaurant.

But five days later, she discovered a £60 in the post.

McDonald’s, who does not own the car park, says dine-in customers can park for up to 70-minutesbut must register their details on a tablet inside.

But the youth worker, who wishes to remain anonymous says there were no clear signs explaining this.

Ella dijo Birmingham Live: “I was shocked to receive the fine, I didn’t see any parking notices anywhere. There was a constant flow of people coming in and out of the restaurant.

They were not using any machines to pay, and I did not see any pay and display tickets in cars, so I assumed I did not have to pay. This has left me angry.
