A NEWLYWED bride was left with blood “pouring from her head” after the infinity pool she and her husband were taking a dip in collapsed.
Um 20 people were in the sea-facing two-levelled pool at the five-star Sandals Royal Curaçao hotel when the walls collapsed – injuring at least 12.
Mrs Jones, 29, was left needing stitches following the horror incident on Thursday – weniger als 24 hours into their getaway.
Other tourists also had to be rushed to hospital after being washed down to the beach, while one woman was knocked unconscious after being struck by a panel.
Mrs Jones, a sales executive who also goes by the name Elizabeth, sagte der Abend Standard: “It was horrible, there was no warning.
“After I was washed away, I staggered up to my feet, limping with blood coming out of my head and leg – schrecklich. Every time I close my eyes, I relive it.
“I couldn’t think, I couldn’t breathe. It was all happening very quickly.
“I was trying to get up to the surface for some air, but the current was too strong. I couldn’t do anything.”
Local media reports say police in the area believe one of the pool’s panels broke because too many people were in it during a party.

The leisure facility remains closed for repairs following the horror incident.
Bar and nightclub owner Mr Jones said he and his new wife were enjoying a few drinks when disaster struck.
The 44-year-old said: “I was stood with my back to the sea chatting to my wife when one of the panels in the middle of the pool just disappeared.
“The weight of the water took me, Elizabeth and a lot of other people and washed us about 30 yards down the beach.”
Mr Jones said he banged his head while Mrs Jones was left “benommen”.

The groom said the company told him that “accidents do happen” while offering a credit note for a future stay.
