A FORMER contestant on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? has lifted the lid on some of the show’s top secrets – including three golden rules to come out on top.
A post on Reddit, from an anonymous account, claimed they have appeared on the popular game show – and even revealed what it’s like to be on set.
Delving into their experience on the show, a user known as not_a_Tony, revealed that he won £8,000 courtesy of some helpful tips backstage.
“The tips were use your Ask the Audience lifeline early,” he advised.
“It’s best if you use it first and you don’t want to use it on the hard questions.
“The logic is, you’re on the show and they’re not, so it’s likely you know more than the people in the audience.”

Tony added that another good tip is to talk out the answer and listen to the audience reaction.
他继续: “If you say you’re leaning toward one answer and everyone gasps really loudly, you should at least reconsider your answer.
“There’s a guy in the control booth who is listening just for those words,” he warned.
“If he thinks you said it, he hits a button, and you are locked in, even if you were just kidding.”
It’s not the first time that someone has lifted the lid on what it’s like to be a part of the show.
Nik, who featured on the programme back in 2010, revealed how he was picked up by a “posh car” to film his episode based in New York.
He went on to detail how he and the other contestants 是 “briefed by the show’s lawyers and producers” about how to behave on set.
The contestant joked how it was key to “not show fake enthusiasm” 和, 所以, was given tips about being themselves.
