I’M A Celebrity star Harry Redknapp and wife Sandra have opened up about their heartbreaking secret miscarriage vir die eerste keer.

Former hairdresser Sandra, 74, who has been married to the ex-sokker manager for 55 jare, fell pregnant in February 1969, but lost the baby at 12 weke.

The couple made the devastating revelation in their joint autobiography When Harry Met Sandra.

After finishing work at the salon, Sandra told how she couldn’t get a bus home to Barking one cold winter evening.

She explained that she walked in the thick snow, but later lost feeling in her hands and feet and began to feel unwell, convinced she had suffered a miscarriage.

“Harry was away playing football when I had the miscarriage. Not many people know about it. I did think to myself, ‘Have I opened up too much?’ but if it helps someone that’s all that matters,” sy het vertel OK! tydskrif.

“It’s nice to know you’re not alone.

Back then nobody talked about it and I don’t think anyone knew how to handle it, veral mans. I cried a lot until I fell pregnant again.”

Sandra fell pregnant three months later with their first son Mark, nou 52.

It comes after Harry, 75, revealed how he feared for his wife Sandra after a serious attack of Covid left her barely able to breathe.

Harry said Sandra could not talk and had to communicate with people by writing notes as well as having a problem swallowing which he feared could lead to her choking.

“The symptoms weren’t good, if I’m truthful,” the I’m A Celeb star said.

“You start to think about all kinds of sinister things. It’s been a real worry.

“Sandra has suffered. Her voice had packed up and she was struggling for breath.

Even swallowing food became difficult. She could choke on food easily if we weren’t careful.”

The virus attacked pre-existing problems with Sandra’s vocal cords.

Gelukkig, she is on the mend – and national treasure Harry is fighting fit too.

The couple have two sons, Jamie and Mark.

Jamie, 49, is a former footballer-turned-pundit having played under his father at Bournemouth en Southampton.
