DEAR DEIDRE: I CONSIDER myself very lucky – I had Covid in February and survived.
However, since then, I’ve suffered from thinning hair.
I’m a 69-year-old woman and although I had to go to bed for two days and had a bad cough I didn’t suffer any worse symptoms.
But since then I’ve noticed my hair is really thinning.
Every time I have a shower the plug hole gets covered in my hair, and it’s really getting me down.

DEIDRE SAYS: Y While some people report hair loss after Covid, the virus is too new to officially link it to the condition, known as telogen effluvium.
However, some people do suffer it after major health or psychological stress, and obviously contracting Covid falls into that category.
But the good news is that this type of hair loss is normally temporary and you should start to shed less hair, while more grows back soon.
If you don’t soon see an improvement, ask your GP for more advice, and I’m sending you my support pack on hair loss, which is full of information.
