A MAN was killed in an assault after a row broke out at a village pub -but a suspect has been arrested for murder.
The unnamed victim was found a mile and a half from the Railway Tavern in Charfield, South Gloucestershire, yesterday evening.
Emergency services were urgently called to the scene just before 11pm last night, but the man’s life could not be saved.
The man died of his injuries at an address in Thames Close.
His identity has yet to be formally confirmed, but his family have been informed and are being supported.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
Avon and Somerset Police warned residents of the rural village to expect an increased polic presence while officers carry out house to house enquiries.
But they assured locals that they do not believe there is a risk to the wider community, 在一个 statement online.
