Moment Grand Designs moving truck DESTROYS garden in chaotic scenes

A LORRY driver found himself in hot water after his vehicle destroyed several plants in the latest episode of Grand Designs.

In the latest instalment of the Channel 4 property design show presenter Kevin McCloud met Kate and Rob, who lived in a 1940s prefabricated house built by Rob’s grandfather.

Kate and Rob were desperate to make the house more modern and were relying on the Grand Designs team to help them build their dream home.

As the couple waited for the first floor of their house to be constructed in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, a wide-load lorry started to make its way to the property.

As the huge truck made its way through a narrow country road it seemed that the driver underestimated the width.

“He is actually cutting the hedge again very slowly,” quipped one of the property surveyors.

“My word!” another worker gasped in shock.

The modules ended up scraping through the freshly-cut hedges on the property.

Things suddenly got worse as the driver slowly made his way down the road, and the roof of the vehicle got caught in the branch.

“Oh s**t!” exclaimed one of the workers.

The lorry ended up being wedged under an oak tree, and the surveyors looked understandably worried.

They couldn’t believe their eyes when the lorry destroyed several plants on the property.

Kate didn’t look happy either, and she pointed out: “You measured that wrong.”

But things quickly turned around as shortly after the lorry driver was rescued with a ladder.

Kate and the surveyors clapped with joy and relief.

“That is remarkable,” said one of the surveyors.

“All thanks to the ladder,” one of the surveyors added.

The first module then took shape with a fitted kitchen and ground floor bedroom delicately planted onto the concrete foundations.

After spending £370,000 on renovations, Kate and Rob were thrilled with the final results.

“It just makes me so happy,” said Rob.

“It’s so, so hard to put into words how we feel about it,” Kate added.

This comes after Grand Design viewers were left distracted by the couple’s shocking design and compared it to a public library.

Grand Designs is available to stream on Channel 4.
