A MUM who won a bottle of plonk in a 50p school tombola later sold it for £185.
Kerry Carty planned to give away the red wine but looked up the label online and found it was a classic 1982 Bordeaux.
She put the Château Cos d’Estournel on internet auction site Bid for Wine where it went for £185 after 16 bids.
كيري, 33, bagged the booze at her six-year-old daughter Madeline’s school fair in Stockport, Gtr مانشستر.
قالت: “I don’t know anything about wine. I’ve never drunk it as it gives me headaches.
“But I only paid 50p for a tombola ticket — so to get £185 is amazing to me.”
Kerry was going to give the wine to her nan for عيد الميلاد and put it in a cupboard.
But when she came across the bottle again in a clear out she investigated.
قالت: “I’m assuming the wine was donated by someone like me who doesn’t have a clue, and had probably been gifted it.
“They must have decided to give it away without a second’s thought.
“I do feel bad, but as the saying goes, ‘one man’s trash is another one’s treasure’.
“From now on I’m going to check any wine I come across.
“Times are hard and if you’ve got a little gold mine in your cupboard, why not.”
