HUNDREDS of thousands of NHS staff are being urged to strike over pay.
Paramedics, theatre staff, occupational therapists, nurses, cleaners and security guards are among the 350,000 Unison members being asked to vote from today for industrial action.
Union leaders say the around four per cent offered in summer is well below inflation and many workers are being forced out of their jobs.
Unison’s Christina McAnea said: “It feels like the NHS is in the last-chance saloon.
“A vote for industrial action might be the jolt that convinces ministers to make the NHS the priority they say it is.”

Walkouts are likely to derail plans to tackle Covid backlogs and ambulance delays.
Ms McAnea said: “Health staff are leaving for better-paid work that doesn’t take such a toll on them and their families.”
