In an unprecedented move, 电视台 bosses were forced to cancel its flagship 早安英国 from the festive schedule amid ongoing 冠状病毒 恐惧.

The early morning news programme was due to air from December 29 到 31 in the lead up to the new year.

A spokesperson from ITV told The Sun on Monday: “There is a special GMB Christmas Day show which airs from 7-9am.

But due to the pandemic and to protect our teams, we have decided to give them an extended break.

“GMB will not broadcast next week, but will be back on air on Tuesday, 4 January 2022.”

The news came as 今天早上 was also cancelled, leaving viewers infuriated, as the beloved show was replaced by a repeat of Rylan Clark‘s Supermarket Sweep instead.

The daytime show, 也 Loose Women, will be cancelled this week in the run-up to 圣诞节.

新冠混乱

Amid mounting concerns among staff and presenters, telly chiefs made the call yesterday, with its staff agreeing to gingerly soldier on until the end of this week.

Presenters have also been asked to do their own make-up as nobody else will be allowed in the studio.

Shows scheduled for the mid-festive period will now be pulled entirely and replaced with another show, while the edition on Christmas Day has already been pre-recorded.
