CABIN crew staff generally seem kind, polite and happy to help any passenger with a question.

Dan Air took to website Confessions of a Trolley Dolly to share the top five lies he tells passengers during a flight.

1. “I’ll come back with more information as soon as I have some

While the plane is almost definitely completely safe, Dan admitted the cabin crew couldn’t say for certain that everything would run smoothly and nothing would go wrong.

He joked that passengers should ignore tape on the wings, the dodgy air conditioning and the broken seal around the door.

3. “We don’t have any of that left

Frequent flyers will know how frustrating it is when you like the sound of a certain drink or snack, only to be told that there’s none left.

Wel, prepare to be even more annoyed, as Dan revealed that flight attendants might just be lying because they can’t be bothered to go and get you what you want.

Hy het gesê: “Well first of all, it depends what you’re asking me for. We may still have it, but it will be on the other trolley or all the way back in the galley locked in a cannister.

So unless you get me in a very good moodwhich doesn’t happen very oftenI won’t be going to check for you.

It’s probably best if you just pick something else.

4. “This is perfectly normal

It would be very unsettling for passengers to hear a noise and ask a flight attendant what it was, only for them to say they’ve never heard it before.

Which is why they put on a smile and tell you everything is fine.

Dan revealed that cabin crew often lie to passengers to keep them calm and to put on an illusion that everything is going to plan.

Hy het gesê: “If it’s a strange noise, we may have never heard it before. If it’s a funny smell, we might never have smelled it. And if it’s really bad turbulence, it’s probably the worst we’ve ever experienced too.

But no matter how scared we are, our perfect, pearly white smile never wavers.

5. “Ek is jammer”

For any passengers out there who have received an apology from a flight attendantthey probably didn’t mean it.

Dan admitted that a lot of the time, flight attendants apologise for things completely out of their control, purely because it makes the passenger feel better.

Hy het gesê: “Fact of the matter is, whatever it is we’re apologising for, it probably isn’t our fault. So why should we apologise for it in the first place?

But we do as it shuts you up. It makes you think that you have won and makes our life that little bit easier.

Dan is not the only cabin crew member that gets frustrated with passengers during a flight.
