A NEW mum has spoken of her terror that she would lose her baby after she was viciously beaten by a love rival.
Amelia Duckworth, 21, was six weeks pregnant when her ex-boyfriend’s new partner, Jessica Baker, assaulted her with a stiletto-shaped perfume bottle.
Amelia told the デイリーメール that she found out after the assault that she was pregnant and was terrified of suffering a miscarriage after the attack hospitalised her last year.
彼女は言いました: “I had an emergency scan because I was worried about what damage I’d done to the baby when I fell to the floor after being struck with the bottle.
“I feared that I had potentially miscarried as a result of the fall but thankfully there were no problems with the 妊娠.
“しかしながら, I had a horrible concussion right the way through it, which made it all the harder to cope with.”
She has since given birth to her daughter Bodhi safely by her new boyfriend, but admitted she was afraid that the attack might kill either her or her baby.
Baker reportedly shouted “I’m going to do you in” 彼女のように lunged at Amelia with the bottle, striking her twice in the head and slashing her face.
The thug pleaded guilty to actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon at ボーンマス Crown Court on Wednesday.
She was given a 12-month prison sentence, 2年間停止 and a two-month curfew between 9pm and 7am.
She was also ordered to pay a £156 victim surcharge and subjected to a two-year restraining order
Amelia said that she believed the judge was lenient on her attacker because she too has become a mother since the attack.
Sentencing Baker, Judge Stephen Climie said: “You decided to take the law into your own hands and attack someone. This is a case which comfortably crosses the custody threshold.
“Social media is a wonderful asset in society. There are some that say we do not adequately prepare your generation for its use.
“Learn to walk away – you don’t have to read everything. Don’t come back.”
