FERN Britton left her co-stars baffled with a bizarre confession on Fishing Scotland’s Lochs and Rivers.
The former This Morning presenter joins Les Dennis, Linford Christie, Rosemary Shrager and Shane Lynch on the Channel 5 series.
The group explored the likes of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, learning to fish along the way.
Fern, 64, caught a trout after a lesson in fly fishing, before local chef Tom Lewis arrived to explain how best to cook it.
As fellow cook Rosemary assisted, he said: “You can see everything you need to take out. Just get your finger and run it all the way along.”
Rosemary and Tom then inspected the celebs’ efforts, and she said of Fern’s: “It’s not bad – she’s got the fillet there which is pretty clean.”
Tom then added extra flavouring and ingredients before serving it up, but before she took a bite Fern made a big admission.
The star – who was married to chef Phil Vickery for 20 years and hosted Ready Steady Cook – said: “I don’t eat fish, and I certainly don’t eat raw fish.

“So this is quite… I mean, I will try it because that was the whole point of the trip.”
Tom was stunned and said: “This is the first time, honestly? My God”, before Les asked how she had found it.
Fern replied: “Actually, nicer than I thought.”
She wasn’t the only one who was nervous about the dish, as Olympian Linford also had to be encouraged to take a bite.
Fishing Scotland’s Lochs and Rivers airs on Fridays at 8pm on Channel 5.
