BBC Breakfast’s Jon Kay left Carol Kirkwood giggling with a cheeky comment about her fiance after her engagement announcement.
Earlier, Jon had interviewed Transport Secretary Grant Shapps on the day the Elizabeth Line finally launched in London and the presenters had celebrated the 50th anniversary of Spaghetti Junction near Birmingham.
Jon and Sally Nugent joked to viewers that train and car fans had been well catered for so far and Sally said “Now let’s make all the Carol Kirkwood fans happy shall we?”
Carol replied: “There’s only one” and Jon joked knowingly: “We know who he is.”
