BORIS Johnson suffered a by-election blow this morning after Labour snatched back the Red Wall seat of Wakefield.

He also faces defeat in true-blue southern heartlands as the Lib Dems look set to overturn a huge Tory majority in Tiverton and Honiton.

Sir Keir Starmer was desperate to show he can start to recapture the Red Wall after flopping badly in last month’s local elections.

The Lib Dems believe they are on the cusp of pulling off another shock victory in Tory southern strongholds by winning in Devon.
