REGINA King’s son Ian Alexander Jr was excited about an upcoming show just three days before his tragic death.

Alexander Jr’s death was confirmed by The Harder They Fall actress, 51, 在一个 heartbreaking tribute.

In an Instagram post just days before he took his own life, he predicted his career was about to “blow up”.

He wrote on the social media site: “Its been a minute but now we back at the jump off. Don’t you want to say you supported desduné before the blowup??

“So pullup this month!! performing live at Bardot on the 28th for @breakingsoundla Save a buck and buy tickets in advance at the link in my bio.”

In a statement sent to 人们, King said: “Our family is devastated at the deepest level by the loss of Ian.

“He is such a bright light who cared so deeply about the happiness of others.

“Our family asks for respectful consideration during this private time. Thank you.”

The publication confirmed he had taken his own life.

Alexander Jr. was King’s only son, whom she shared with former husband Ian Alexander Sr.

Alexander Jr was a DJ and singer-songwriter who performed under the name Desduné.

King had a close bond with her son who would go with her to events, calling her “super mom” at the 2019 Golden Globes.

The Oscar winner previously revealed a close bond with her son — an artist and DJ — with the pair getting matching tattoos reading “unconditional love”.

Just last week, Regina took to Instagram to urge her followers to support her son’s new single, Green Eyes.

He was also a celebrity chef who told Flaunt Magazine in May 2021 that he hoped to develop his private dinner parties into a restaurant.

No cause of death has been made public, but both 人们 and blog lovebscott.com have reported that he died by suicide.

He turned 26 在一月 19, two days before his death.

在 2011, Regina, who separated from Ian’s father after nine years of marriage in 2007, spoke of her “unconditional love” for her son.

She told Essence 当时: “I get emotional because my son is an amazing young man, and it took me to be a mother for me to realize how incredible of a woman she (my mother) 是.

“You don’t know what unconditional love is. You may say you do, but if you don’t have a child, you don’t know what that is.
