A BLAZE in Brooklyn, New York resulted in the death of one firefighter and nearly a dozen others injured Sunday afternoon.

The three-alarm fire broke out just after 1:30pm and over 100 FDNY members worked to stop the flames, said a spokesperson.

Two civilians were also injured during the incident. All were taken to area hospitals, but their conditions are not immediately known at this time.

The fire has been brought under control. Neighbors in the area were encouraged by authorities to close their windows due to possible smoke inhalation.
