LIVERPOOL will host Eurovision 2023 on behalf of Ukraine after beating Glasgow to the bid.
TV host Graham Norton announced the results on The One Show – and confirmed Eurovision’s date will be on 13th May 2023.
Telly fans rejoiced as Liverpool was named the host city for the prestigious annual music extravaganza.
They flocked to Twitter to comment after host of the show Graham opened the envelope to reveal Liverpool, home of the Beatles, had won the bid over Glasgow.

As runner-up and a member of the ‘big five’, the UK has stepped up to host the competition for the first time in 24 年.
Despite Ukraine’s hopes to rebuild before the competition the decision was made to allow the UK to take over the hosting.
“As we are now hosts, the UK will honour that pledge directly – and put on a fantastic contest on behalf of our Ukrainian friends.”
In a double surprise Graham also confirmed the date of the huge show which is scheduled for May 13.
The song contest is traditionally held in May and has been since 1995.
