DANNY Miller has hit back after making a “extraño” public quip about Stephen Mulhern at the National Television Awards.
The King Of The Jungle then said: “Just on behalf of Ant and Dec who unfortunately have Covid so they can’t be here tonight, and Stephen Mulhern is in the crowd so not sure why HE hasn’t accepted the award on behalf of them.”
The camera panned to Saturday Night Takeaway and In For A Penny star Stephen, 45, who pulled a face and looked perplexed.
But Danny has now spoken out and insisted that he and Stephen are good friends and that his comment was a “personal joke”.
Sharing a snap of himself and the telly magician taken during the night at the NTAs, el escribio: “Don’t believe everything you read.
“A good friend and a personal joke @stephenmulhern.”
Viewers at home had been left puzzled after hearing Danny’s acceptance speech on Thursday night.
Some feared that it was a ‘deliberate dig’ at the TV funnyman.
