SILENT NIGHT is the most magical Christmas carol, a poll has shown.

这 1818 festive song — composed by Austrian teacher Franz Xaver Gruber — got a quarter of the vote.

Research also found 81 per cent of people still love to sing carols.

Perspectus Global, which did the poll, 说: “It’s no surprise many of us can’t resist singing our hearts out.”

David Arnold from Perspectus Global, which conducted the research said: “Tis the season to be jolly, and it wouldn’t truly be 圣诞节 without our favourite carols.

“Our research reveals that classic choices like Silent Night, O Come All Ye Faithful are still popular choices across the UK.

“And it’s no surprise that so many of us can’t resist singing our hearts out to a festive song or two during the Christmas season.”
