ONLY Connect viewers were left with one burning question after the latest episode aired.
The BBC Two quiz programme aired last night and is presented by Victoria Coren Mitchell.
It sees teams compete in a tournament of finding connections between seemingly unrelated clues.
The show’s questions will cover any topic, and many may require knowledge of both arcane subject areas and popular culture.
When presented with the clues, contestants are not told the type of the connection, and as such part of the gameplay involves establishing whether the connection is thematic, linguistic, factual or mathematical.
But fans were distracted and left one with question about a contestant.
Viewers were introduced to the Croot and Crustacean families as they both battled it out.
Egter, one contestant didn’t appear to have a second name – and was just called ‘Dennis’.
Baffled fans took to social media after spotting it as one said: “WHY IS HE JUST DENNIS??? #OnlyConnect.”
'N Ander het gesê: “Really enjoyed tonight’s #onlyconnect – my main question is why Dennis has no surname.”

“Is Dennis’s second name all vowels; so he’s staying in character of the missing vowels round and making it invisible,” asked a third.
While a fourth posted: “Am assuming “Dennis” is on a witness protection scheme.”
It seems it will forever remain a mystery.
