LOCALS have been left horrified after their quiet street was left “ruined” by travellers dumping stinking piles of rubbish and manure near homes, they claim.
Residents in Hessle, Yorkshire say up to 10 caravans have parked on a field and they claim they are now “asustado” to leave their homes.
One person living in the area claimed to the Hull Daily Mail that there is horse manure “all over the place”, dirty toilet wipes have been left on the field and rubbish has piled up.
Another resident, mum-of-two Jo, 42, told the paper: “We have had travellers here before who have caused no issue – but this time it has just been awful.
“We just want our children to be able to play on the field, but parents are scared to let them go out.”
Jo claimed a young man threatened her by saying: “I’ve just had a massive s***. If you look at me one more time your face will be in it.”
Humberside Fire and Rescue said they were called out to the area on Monday after people were seen setting piles of rubbish on fire.
Jo has started a petition to build a fence to “keep the travellers out”.

An East Riding of Yorkshire Council spokesperson said: “The council would neither support or oppose a petition of this nature at this time.
“The council is aware of issues involving St Thomas More playing fields historically and will continue to consider all options available to ensure the site is as secure as possible.”
The Sun Online has contacted Humberside Police for comment.
