ARSENAL hero Aaron Ramsdale says he would “take responsibility” if he was handed the captain’s armband.

Alexandre Lacazette has temporarily been handed the post but the Frenchman’s future at the club is uncertain.

“You never turn down a captaincy and I think I’d excel if I was given the armband, but that’s down to the boss.”
Left-back Kieran Tierney is amongst the frontrunners to be named the new Arsenal captain.

Summer arrival Martin Odegaard, who captains Norway, is also in with a shout.
Ramsdale has also heaped praise on his No2 Bernd Leno, who he says pushes him every single day.

“He’s been good with me – we fight for the same spot, but we have each other’s backs too.
