Bradley Walsh leaves contestant red-faced with BRUTAL takedown

BRADLEY Walsh left a contestant on The Chase red-faced after she incorrectly guessed the answer to an “obvious” question during the cash builder round.

Monday evening’s episode of the ITV quiz show saw Libbie, Shaun, Fiona and Richard join forces to take on one of the country’s finest brains – and one of them soon stole the show.

As viewers tuned into the primetime show, Bradley welcomed Chaser Shaun Wallace onto the show.

It’s fair to say the pro quizzer was on fire as he quickly showed off his general knowledge prowess as he left the contestants shaking in their boots in the nerve-wracking head-to-head match.

During the quick-fire round, the blonde beauty was asked: “What colour is the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters,” to which the veterinary surgeon replied: “Green.”

After the quick-fire round ended, the gameshow host soon grilled Libbie on her bizarre answer for the “obvious” answer on the show.

He confessed: “Libbie, £3,000 – that’s nerves. Honestly, some of the questions there, even your animals could have got.”

In the background, contestants Richard and Shaun could be heard muttering: “A little harsh,” to which the dad-of-two pointed out one of her most obvious blunders.

Brad replied with: “A little harsh? The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man,” to which the vet agreed: “I know marshmallows are either white or pink, not green!”

Feeling sympathetic, the star added: “Do you know what Libbie? I think it’s nerves, you’re so nervous.”

It was at this point that the contestant optimistically asked: “Can I have another go?” to which he bluntly replied: “Uh, no.”

Brad went on to ask if she often feels nervous when she’s in the operating room performing on her furry patients.

The candid contestant confessed: “Oh, all the time, all the time. It’s like the game operation – if something goes wrong the buzzer goes off!”

Surprisingly, Libbie made it through to the grand final on her own after she successfully brought £1,000 back to the jackpot.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
