With hotels already in London, コーンウォール, Brighton and Oxfordshire, the newest Artist Residencea former boot factorycertainly had big boots to fill.

Where is Artist Residence Bristol?

Blink and you’ll miss it.

Tucked down an unassuming side street among traditional terraced townhouses, the Grade-I listed, ブリストル property is in Portland Square, closest to Montpelier station and Bristol Temple Meads.

There’s no parking so you’ll have to get the train or park at the nearby Cabot Circus multi-storey car park.

What is Artist Residence Bristol like?

Like its name would suggest, アーティスト レジデンス is an urban-chic gallery with rooms.

Like all of its sister hotels, the once tired yet characterful building has been stylishly renovated.

Industrial light bulbs dangle from the ceiling, plush leather armchairs sit in the lobby and quirky artwork is plastered over the bare-brick walls.

What is there to do at Artist Residence Bristol?

The hotel is a five-minute walk from Cabot Circus, a massive shopping complex with restaurants and a cinema.

If you’re keen to soak up even more art it won’t be hard to find it.

The home of バンクシー, Bristol’s streets are filled with colourful graffiti, especially around the Stokes Croft area.

What is there to eat and drink at Artist Residence Bristol?

The food in the hotel’s restaurant, the Old Boot Factory, is nothing special but it’s still undeniably good.

Trendy favourites like burrata drizzled with pesto and Korean fried chicken burgers feature on the dinner menu as well as classic pizzas and a butter-y crayfish linguine.

Do stay for breakfast – there’s a top notch selection of egg dishes.

They also brew some of the best decaf coffee I’ve ever tasted.

What are the rooms like at Artist Residence Bristol?

Each of the 23 rooms is completely unique and retains original features.

I stayed in The Lookout, on the top floor, which is split across two levels with a four-poster bamboo bed downstairs and a small living room and wrap-around terrace above, accessed by a spiral staircase.

There’s also a chic bathroom which features a roll top bath sat in front of a huge sash window with traditional wooden shutters.

All rooms come with very plush amenities like lavender-scented This Works pillow spray, vanity kits with ear plugs, toothbrushes and combs and the usual dressing gowns and slippers – only these are a bit more glam than the bog standard ones in most hotels.

Is Artist Residence Bristol family-friendly?

It’s better suited to couples on a weekend city getaway, but cots are available in some rooms as well as pull-out beds which cost an additional £30 per night.

Is there access for guests with disabilities?

It’s an old building so it’s not massively suitable, although there is a lift that goes to all floors except the top one.
