THE BEST hidden gem restaurants in the world have been revealed – and Doncaster surprisingly features on the list.

TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ [object Window] has rounded up the finest dining across the globe.

This includes the best restaurants in the UK and the best in the world by looking at the quality and quality of reviews and ratings.

The newest subcategory is the best Hidden Gem restaurants around the world, which are off the beaten track and loved by locals.

Featuring restaurants in Spain, Italy and Mexico, a restaurant in Doncaster surprisingly made the list.

La Fiesta, a Spanish restaurant, was fifth on the list and was rated highly for its all-you-can-eat tapas.

It has nearly 2,000 reviews – com 1,746 rated five stars.

Other highly ranked restaurants included the Salamander Restaurant in Mevagissey, Cornualha, which was the top date night restaurant in the UK, and Makars Gourmet Mash Bar in Edimburgo as the best for everyday eats.

For the best fine dining in Europe, the UK takes the top spot with The Old Stamp House Restaurant in Cumbria.

TripAdvisor has also ranked the best waterparks and theme parks in the world.
