Responding to a question about what “dirty little secrets” flight attendants keep, the unnamed woman said she often had a cheeky way of keeping rude passengers in line.

She wrote: “I used to be a flight attendant and when someone was really rude I’d just go to the computer we had to reset the inflight tv screens and I’d keep resetting theirs sporadically so that they couldn’t watch their movie.

“Very petty of me I know.”

And the mystery former stewardess got plenty of backing from Reddit users.

One person wrote: “It is like waitstaff rules. Never f*** with people who control your food (or comfort).”

Another added: “I love this so much.”

A second flight attendant posted: “Guess it depends on the airline. On mine we could do individual, by area or the whole plane.

“There’s also a switch under each aisle seat that will turn off the whole row, but that’s hard to do sneakily.”

It comes as another steward revealed the secret phrase cabin crew use to describe passengers they find pleasing to the eye.

Cabin crew use acronym BOB – ‘Boyfriend on Board’ – when discussing attractive passengers.

An anonymous flight attendant told Buzzfeed: “We play a game by calling people BOB (‘Boyfriend on Board’) or a ‘raftie,’ as in someone who you’d want in your raft in the water if need be.”

“We’ll be like, ‘Did you see BOB in 16A,’ or, ‘There’s a lot of rafties on this flight.’

“We also notice rude people and talk s*** about them as soon as we finish service and are in the galley.”

Similarly, if you hear a flight attendant referring to hot coffee in your aisle but don’t spot anyone drinking a hot beverage, chances are there’s a good-looking passenger nearby.

In an interview with Yahoo, flight attendant Emily Witkop revealed:  “I recall for a few years there was a ‘hot coffee’ code among flight attendants.

“You would say, ‘I’ve got hot coffee in 3B!’ Which meant there was an extremely attractive passenger in that particular seat who the other flight attendants should check out.”

There’s another secret word for when crew have a crush on passengers – you won’t find out until it’s pretty much too late though.

According to one senior member of cabin crew in Australia, the “cheerio game” is played when passengers are disembarking from the plane.

The crew member, who goes by the name LTN330 on the Cabin Crew forum said: “There’s the cheerio game you can play when passengers disembark.
