PEP GUARDIOLA reckons he might not be “good enough” to win the Champions League again in his career after suffering more European anguish this week.

But the 51-year-old has told his players to use their pain from Madrid to drive them to the Prem title.

The Manchester City boss left his squad alone for a couple of days to come to terms with Wednesday’s devastating Champions League exit.

But they will return to training on Saturday morning to prepare for Sunday’s visit of Newcastle.

And he is convinced their semi-final “tragedy” in the Bernabeu can make them stronger as they look to hang on to their one-point lead over Liverpool at the top.

Guardiola said: “What we lived in Madrid will help us as a club and as a team in the future.

“People now don’t realise it but I tell you — it’s good for us.

“The worst is not being there in the final and living it, it’s watching it. I would love to be there — but it will be better in the future.

“Now it feels like a tragedy but there will be good memories.”

Pep decided not to address his stars after Real Madrid struck twice in just over 80 seconds at the death to send their semi-final second leg to extra-time — where Karim Benzema’s penalty put them out.

But on Saturday he will remind them of everything they have achieved during his near six years in charge — and that four more wins will see them win a fourth title in five years.

He added: “I’ve said nothing. No words can help for what we feel.

“It is just a question of time, sleep as well as possible and think of the next target.”

Guardiola has not won the Champions League since way back in 2011 with Barcelona — and cannot guarantee it will ever happen for him at the Etihad.

The Spaniard said: “Maybe I’m not good enough to help the team to do it.

“Nobody knows what would have happened with other players or managers. Accept it.

“We have a big challenge. We have the season in our hands.”
