COUNTDOWN star Nick Hewer took a swipe at his ex-colleague following a tweet about Anne Robinson quitting the show.
The ex-Weakest Link star, 77, became the first show’s female host when she stepped into his shoes in June last year.
Anne revealed her departure this week, with Nick last night commenting on Susie Dent‘s tweet wishing her well.
The lexicographer, who has appeared in Countdown’s Dictionary Corner since 1992, wrote on Twitter: “Some Countdown news.
“Wishing Anne all the very best in her new adventures with her grandchildren and beyond.”
Nick seemed to think she was sucking up to Anne, l'écriture: “Well that’s a sure fire certainty for Private Eye’s OBN [Order of the Brown Nose] prix. Bravo Susie!”

Anne leaves the show just months after The Sun revealed her feud with co-star Rachel Riley.
We revealed in November that Anne clashed with maths whizz Rachel, 35, over dressing rooms, make-up artists and wardrobe budgets backstage.
Although Anne denied her decision had anything to do with Rachel, en disant: “There isn’t a question of my going because of a rift, that’s nonsense.”
She said she’d “had a blast hosting this wonderful show”.

Anne added: “I stayed longer than I signed up for. Now it is time for an older woman to take the reins.
“I hope I’ve encouraged TV bosses to realise not all women at the wrong end of their 70s are in care homes playing bingo and watching conjuring tricks.
“En fait, the genius of Countdown is that it’s a brilliant way to keep the brain exercised. I run 5k most days of the week. And I can now do an anagram at twice the speed I could this time last year.
“But I have grandchildren, a large garden and a home in New York, more deserving of my attention.”
