A GROOM who jilted his bride on their wedding day last night refused to apologise.
The Sun told yesterday how Kallum Norton, 24, broke fiancée Kayley Stead’s heart when he did a runner hours before they were due to tie the knot.
It can now be revealed that Kallum is a newly-qualified PC with Gwent Police and he passed out from training just days after legging it from the £12,000 hotel nuptials.
The pair, who had been in a relationship for almost four years and lived together in Swansea, had been due to attend the parade together after getting wed on September 15.
But when asked by The Sun if he would say sorry to Kayley, Kallum said: “I don’t want to talk about the article.”
He had been staying in a caravan near the venue the night before the wedding, but left in the early hours.
His dad later phoned in to say his son was not going to turn up.
Instead of wasting the thousands she had spent on the bash, insurance clerk Kayley, 27, partied on with her nearest and dearest as planned — and said the day was a triumph.
Hearing Kallum’s response, heartbroken Kayley said: “I don’t expect anything different, but I do expect someone to own their actions and be responsible for what they did.”
