Jorginho um abismo de classe acima de Winks enquanto Hudson-Odoi prospera em papel fluido

CHELSEA booked their spot in February’s Carabao Cup final as they strolled past Spurs.

Already leading 2-0 from the first leg, Antonio Rudiger headed in the crucial opening goal on the night thanks to Pierluigi Gollini’s horrendous error.

It ensured the tie was all over with 72 minutes remaining and Chelsea could have run riot.

Tottenham turned up in the second half but, not helped by VAR, they failed to land a serious glove and limped out of yet another cup competition.

Here’s how SunSport’s Joshua Jones rated Thomas Tuchel’s men

Kepa Arrizabalaga – 8

A largely quiet first half for the Spanish goalkeeper, who did not face a shot on target until Emerson Royal’s pea-roller on 37 minutos.

Made a great tackle on Lucas Moura as Spurs had their second penalty overturned then denied Emerson Royal’s header and later Ryan Sessegnon deep into injury time to preserve his clean sheet.

Now all eyes will be on Wembley and if there is any more substitute drama.

César Azpilicueta – 6

Solid as ever from Mr Reliablenothing spectacular but handled the little threat Spurs offered down their left.

Slipped at just the wrong time to allow Ben Davies to cross, but Arrizabalaga would not be denied.

Andreas Christensen – 6

Nice and assured from the Denmark international still playing for his future at Chelsea.

Handled main threat Harry Kane well then thwarted Moura as Spurs threatened in the second half but had a couple of lapses of concentration.

Antonio Rudiger – 7

Made the most of Gollini’s woeful goalkeeping to head in an easy opener which effectively settled the tie beyond any doubt.

Got away with his tackle on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as VAR Mike Dean confirmed contact was outsidenot insidethe penalty area.

Malang Sarr – 7

Got up and down the left-hand side well in his hybrid role. Slowly but surely looking more and more confident in this Chelsea side.

And bonus point for getting the home fans riled up in the early stages after one of his ventures forward resulted in a blocked shot.

Jorginho – 8

The midfield metronome was ticking in time tonight, dictating the play as everything seemed to go through Jorginho.

The gulf in class to his opposite number Harry Winks was painfully clear for the 45,000 at the game, it took Antonio Conte 81 minutes to end his man’s woes.

Mateo Kovacic – 6

Almost allowed Spurs a slight foothold back into the second leg when he switched off from a corner but Kane fluffed his lines stretched at the back post.

Salvou Ramsdale com um enorme tackle enquanto Maddison se contorcia e estava prestes a puxar o gatilho, helped boss the midfield battle alongside his Italian mate.

Callum Hudson-Odoi – 8

Playing in a fluid role, switching between left wing-back and an inverted left-wing roleand did it to great effect in both directions.

Allowed more licence to strut his stuff going forward when the switches were made and got into some dangerous areas but was just lacking the final touch.

Mason Mount – 6

Whipped in the teasing delivery from the corner for the opening goal.

He was his usual busy self, although not quite as effective as he would have liked before being subbed off.

Romelu Lukaku – 7

Chose to latch on to Ben Davies, the weakest of Spursthree central defenders and bullied him.

Still looks to be playing with a point to prove and almost opened the scoring goal before continuing to be a menace throughout.

Timo Werner – 5

Clearly started with a bit of extra confidence after his tap-in at the weekend and looked sharp in the opening exchanges with an attempted lob looping wide.

But like Mount, did not cause as many problems as his early threat suggested and made way.

Começou animado pela esquerda do Arsenal e fez o cruzamento perfeito para abrir o gol:

Thiago Silva (for Christensen, 66 minutos) – 6

As if Chelsea needed an experienced head to see it outbut they brought the Brazilian on for some minutes as he helped them tick away.

Marcos Alonso (for Werner, 66 minutos) – 6

Slotted in on the left allowing Hudson-Odoi more freedom to get forward.

Hakim Ziyech (for Mount, 66 minutos) – 5

Morocco’s loss is Chelsea’s gainhe took the Mount role for the final quarter.

N’Golo Kante (for Kovacic, 77 minutos) – 6

The Frenchman slotted into the middle of the park for the final stages and was his usual busy self.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek (for Jorginho, 82 minutos) – 5

Another run out in the closing minutes.
