KATE Garraway beamed with happiness as she let her hair down on a fun day trip to Winter Wonderland with her children.
The TV presenter has been to hell and back over the past two years throughout her husband Derek Draper’s devastating battle with Covid.
She has been juggling caring for Derek alongside her TV and radio jobs, but enjoyed a rare care-free moment with her kids Darcey, 15, and 12-year-old Billy.
They were seen playing games and riding the carousel as they made the most of their Christmas break.
Proud mum Kate took pictures of Darcey and Billy letting loose on the rides after praising their strength throughout the family tragedy.
The family-of-four were even able to enjoy a night out at the panto with wheelchair-bound Derek.
It was the first time the 54-year-old had been seen outside since returning home after a brutal 13-month stay in hospital.

Kate was made an MBE in the New Year Honours after documenting Derek’s fight with coronavirus, which has gripped the nation.
It follows her incredible National Television Awards win in September 2021 where she won the authored documentary prize for her hard-hitting documentary Finding Derek.
The programme charted her family’s struggle to get her husband home from hospital after he became seriously ill with Covid-19 in March 2020.
Though Derek, a former political adviser, is now free of the virus, he has sustained long-lasting damage to his organs and his recovery is ongoing.
He suffered a “susto” over Christmas, which almost landed him back in hospital.
But Kate admitted “everything felt suddenly perfect” as the family ended Christmas Day watching a festive film together at home.
Sharing a rare snap of her husband with their kids by his side, Kate said she was feeling “grateful” for family time after Derek suffered a “susto” on Christmas Eve.
“So the last 24 hours has been bumpy – a scare that meant Derek might have had to go back into hospital (thankfully sorted by a visit from nurse/carer),” she told fans on Instagram.
“He has also had one of his ultra fatigue days so has been too weak to do much other than sleep.
“I burnt the parsnips ( Darceys favourite ) & got the “wrong” Lego for Billy.
“But now snuggled up around Dad’s bed watching #nativity everything feels suddenly perfect.
“Feel so grateful to have the chance to be together.
“Sending love & hoping you have found some joy today whatever your circumstances – #merrychristmas all!”
