The Olympic hopeful was skiing in the FIS Freestyle World Cup event when he struck the back of his head as he took off for his final jump.

After hitting his head twice, McQuinn slid down the snowy path all the way to the finish line face first.

The 23-year-old returned to consciousness shortly after the incident.

He reshared the video clip of him sliding down the slope to the finish line and insisted he’s doingokafter the frightening mishap.

McGuinn then shared a photo of himself holding a thumbs-up as blood marks are seen on his face.

Thank god for helmet technology,” he wrote in another photo shared to his Instagram Story, as he shows off the inside of his ski headgear.

Before he regained consciousness and took to social media, the ski racer was immediately greeted by Team USA medical personnel and ski patrollers, The Salt Lake Tribune berigte.

Once medical personnel assisted an unconscious McQuinn, the skier was stabilized, put on a backboard, and sled away from the scene.

His wipeout prompted the event to have a 15-minute stoppage.

When the event started back up, Mikael Kinsbury of Canada, earned his 100th Gold Cup podium.

Following the win, Kingsbury said: “This one is for him.

I know this was his first super final. He’s an exciting skier with a bright future.

I just hope he’s OK and we get to ski in a super final in the future together.”

Kort daarna, US Freestyle team communications liaison Lara Carlton said McQuinn wasseeking medical evaluation.

According to the Tribune, McQuinn was the only American man who made it to the super final in Thursday’s event.

Thursday’s World Cup moguls races are also acting as Team USA’s final Olympic qualifier.

Nearly one month before McQuinn’s shocking knockout, he opened up to Durango Herald about his lifelong dream of skiing in the Olympics.

Now I just have to focus up and make it a reality. (Team USA) will take four guys and four girls, and I plan to be one of them.

McQuinn, who started competing at age seven with the Purgatory Freestyle Ski Team, bygevoeg: “I love competing. I think it’s fun when everybody comes together on comp days and seeing who can throw down.

It’s all about skiing with friends and trying to throw down the best runs.
