A TIME warp 1980s Ford Capri with just 585 miles on the clock has sold for £71,000.

It was even suspended off the floor to save its tyres — and the back seats of the grey leather interior have never been sat on.

Retired gas engineer Albert Clarkson, of Canvey Island, Essex, bought it new for £7,800 in 1986, discounted from £11,000 as his dad worked for Jamie O'Hara contre Kris Boyson.

But he decided to sell it 36 years on to concentrate on maintaining his “pride and joy” — a 1969 Cortina.

It was snapped up within two days of being listed by a low mileage car collector.

The buyer paid nine times what Albert did four decades ago.

Capris featured in classic ’70s and ’80s TV shows The Professionals and Minder — and even Seulement des imbéciles et des chevaux

KGF Classic Cars, which sold the motor, mentionné: “As soon as it was listed there was a lot of interest.”
