DANI Harmer has recently been diagnosed with gestational diabetes.
Die Schauspielerin – who shot to fame as a child as Tracy Beaker – is pregnant with her second child at the moment with partner Simon Brough.
Dani, 32, announced on Wednesday evening that she’d just found out she has gestational diabetes.
The condition is described as “high blood sugar (glucose) that develops during pregnancy and usually disappears after giving birth.”
The NHS explains that it can happen at any stage of pregnancy, but is more common in the second or third trimester, and happens when a body cannot produce enough insulin – a hormone that helps control blood sugar levels – to meet extra needs in pregnancy.
Dani shared the devastating news on Instagram, posting a paragraph to her stories to reveal the news.
Captioning a snap of a daily blood glucose log book, the star wrote: “Not quite how I wanted to end this pregnancy but super glad we found out when we did!
“Newly diagnosed gestational diabetes so any tips are welcome!”

The expectant mum continued: “Sending love to those who’ve had it throughout their pregnancy”.
She followed up with a post thanking her 145K followers for wonderful advice, Hinzufügen: “I’ve now started following @gestational_diabetes_uk because they were recommended by pretty much everyone!
“So give them a follow if you’ve just been diagnosed and looking for help like I am!”
Gestational diabetes can cause problems for both expectant mums and their unborn child, both during pregnancy and after giving birth, jedoch, the risks can be reduced if the condition is detected early and well managed.
Dani has nearly reached her due date, but has explained she is “lucky that I only have a couple of weeks left”.
Sie schloss: “Can’t thank you all enough for the support! You guys are awesome!”
